Salman Khan could face jail for 10 years!: The prosecution in the 2002 rash driving case involving the Bollywood star Salman Khan has sought more stringent charges to be filed against the actor.
The case dates back to September 2002 when Salman’s SUV rammed into a bakery in Mumbai and ran over the people sleeping by roadside, killing one and injuring four others.
Salman was, and still is, booked for rash and negligent driving under Section 304 (A) of Indian Penal Code (IPC). If found guilty under this section, he faces a jail term of two years.
But now, the prosecution has filed an application in a local court in Mumbai to levy more stringent charges against Salman under Section 304 II of the IPC. Under this section, Salman could face the maximum sentence of 10 years in jail if found guilty.
Mind you, the charges against the actor have not yet been enhanced. Only an application has been filed. The matter will now be heard in court on March 22 when Salman’s lawyer will file a reply.
